Description
Compromise isn’t in this laptop’s vocabulary. The Spectre x360 was designed with a singular purpose in mind—unlimited, uninhibited freedom. Powered by 2.2-GHz Intel Core i5-5200U processor and 4 GB of RAM, for seamless inter-application, the Spectre x360 has enough muscle to perform the tasks you want it to, run Spreadsheet test and play an episode of Modern Family on Hulu at full screen without a lag. The x360’s 128GB SSD duplicates a 4.97GB of multimedia files at a rate of 141.4 MBps. That’s enough to beat its category average (121.7 MBps) as well as the XPS 13 (87.7 MBps).
Design Features
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then HP’s competitors must all be blushing. For the Spectre x360, HP looks like it combined the best ideas from most other top-end Ultrabooks. The lid has a clean, minimalist look: It’s unadorned except for a small groove near the top and an offset “Hewlett-Packard” in the middle. Inside, the x360 is all HP. The keyboard deck, a silver-on-silver treatment, is reminiscent of other HP systems, and the extra-wide Clickpad is also a holdover from earlier Spectre-branded notebooks.
Distinctive versatility
It’s time to rethink how you use a laptop and try something radically new. Seamlessly shift between four modes for an entertainment experience that gets you closer to your screen than ever before. The Geared hinge designed by Hp engineers is built with a synchronized geared hinge designed to rotate fluidlyyet hold firmly in each mode. To ensure long-lasting quality, they encased the mechanism in stainless steel to protect it from damage, dirt, and dust.
Carved like a sculpture
Inspired by an artisan manufacturing process and designed with precision. The Spectre x360 aluminum unibody is carefully chiseled by computer numerical control (CNC) machines, a process used by the aerospace industry. Durable and refined—it’s simply a work of art. It is Slim, smart, and sophisticated with four unique modes to give you a high-performance notebook, impressive presentation tool, and multimedia marvel with an incredibly thin, effortlessly portable profile.
Keyboard & Touchpad
In all, typing on the x360 is a pleasurable experience. The x360’s keys have 1.34mm of travel and require 62 grams of force to press; both numbers are typical of most notebooks (1.32mm/57 grams). The super-wide Synaptic Click-pad (5.5 x 2.5 inches) has sections on the right and left sides that make it easier to launch Windows 8 gestures. The cursor never jumps, either, a problem experienced with other Ultrabooks.
Why a Core i5?
For the Core i5, its maximum allowable processor frequency is 3.6GHz. Because none of the Core i3 CPUs have Turbo Boost, the Core i5 can outrun them whenever it needs to. Because all Core i5 processors are equipped with the latest version of this technology Turbo Boost 2.0 all of them can outrun any Core i3. Obviously, with a larger cache, more data can be accessed quickly. The Haswell (fourth generation) Core i3 processors have either 3MB or 4MB of cache. The Haswell Core i5s have either 4MB or 6MB of cache. These clearly are the reasons why an i5 outperforms an i3.
Intel HD Graphics
The Intel HD Graphics is an integrated graphics unit, which can be found in various ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) processors of the Kaby Lake generation. This version of the Kaby Lake GPU is clocked at up to 1050 MHz (depending on the CPU model). Due to its lack of dedicated graphics memory or eDRAM cache, the Intel HD has to access the main memory (2x 64bit DDR3/DDR4). The exact performance of the HD Graphics depends on various factors like L3 cache size, memory configuration (DDR3/DDR4) and maximum clock rate found on this model.
Note: This laptop does not come with an optical drive but you can purchase an external DVDrw drive from Saruk Digital.
