Features a versatile HD 1920 x 1080 LED backlight 15.6 touch screen display with 10 point multi touch support. LED backlighting gives you a thinner, more energy efficient screen. 4GB of memory runs your programs. 500GB hard drive holds your songs, photos and documents.
Multi Mode
Like its predecessor, the Flex can be used in both laptop and stand modes, thanks to its 300-degree hinge. On the plus side, the notebook recognizes every transition you make, and prompts you to check out ideal apps for each mode whenever we switched to one.
Dazzling Display
You will get some solid entertainment mileage out of the Flex 2’s 1920 x 1080 display. The multicolored Windows 8.1 Start menu looks crisp, as did colorful websites such as ESPN.com and Saruk.co.ke. The display also does an admirable job handling the 1080p trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. You can clearly make out the facial pores and stringy moustache of Bard the Bowman, and the films grassy plains and icy battlefields looked rich. The Flex 2’s screen produce 200 nits on our light meter, slightly outshining the 193-nit Aspire E15. This laptop’s display reproduce 55.5 percent of the sRGB color gamut.
Immersive Audio
The Flex 2’s speakers have some serious output, but louder isn’t always better. The Flex 2 registeres a whopping 94 decibels on the audio test (tone playback from 23 inches away), outcranking the Inspiron 15 (87 decibels), Aspire E15 (79 decibels) and the mainstream average (86 decibels). The included Dolby Digital Plus app bolsters the notebook’s audio playback. This app has sound presets for movies, music, games and voice. If those don’t do the trick, there are two slots for custom presets.
Fast Connectivity
Wireless N 802.11b g n provides high performance, cable free networking and is fully compatible with 802.11b g. Access your wireless devices to share files, surf the Web and exchange email. You also have a wired connection available. Features a 2 in 1 memory card for file transfers made fast and easy. Use the HDMI port to view videos and photos on your HDTV. HDMI cable is sold separately. USB 3.0 port enables ultra fast data transfers up to 10 times faster. The Flex 2’s slim edges host a power input, Kensington lock, HDMI port, USB 3.0 and headphone jack on the left. On the right, you’ll find the power button, an optical drive, two USB 2.0 ports and a 2-in-1 card reader.
Keyboard and Touchpad
Sporting a set of black, smooth, curvy island-keys atop a flexible rubber base, the Flex 2’s AccuType keyboard is a joy for touch typists. The keys in the top row double as shortcuts for adjusting volume and brightness, closing windows, and switching apps, and they let you do so without holding the Fn key. The icy white backlighting is sufficiently bright. Lenovo said it omitted this lighting to achieve the notebook’s budget price.
