TECNO has added Tecno Spark 4 Air to its line of budget phones. It’s price is 11,000/= in Kenya. There is a Spark 3 Series that this one succeeds, be sure to check it out on this website under TECNO phones.

Tecno Spark 4 Air is now available in the country and is on DealBora Kenya’s displays. Let me put it this way, if Phone Place Kenya does not have it then, it is not a smartphone worth having. But as it is, it is available with Kenya’s most preferred smartphone dealer, yours truly, Phone Place Kenya. Below is a quick list of its main features. Read the review of it afterwards.

Design and build 

What is the catch of Tecno Spark 4 Air yo ask? Well, most of it is in the design qualities. First and foremost, it boasts in the Face ID feature which is ensure by that front facing camera inside the U-shaped notch of its 6.1 inches Full display. Besides this notch is a front facing LED flash squeezed in the slim top bezel. Speaking of which, the bottom chin is slightly thicker than the top bezel.

On the back of  Tecno Spark 4 Air is where you will find its rear mounted fingerprint scanner and a dual camera setup on the top left corner. That which separates the camera lenses is the LED flash. Then you will also notice a speaker grill at the bottom left corner with TECNO branding above it.

Notice how everything is oriented vertically? This gives it some uniformity which is a nice touch. OF course at this price range we can pardon Spark 4 Air for not having glass build, and wireless charging and all those features we see in non-budget phones. Even then, this is a nice looking phone thanks to its simplicity.

Display and camera 

Display 

Tecno Spark 4 Air’s display is 6.1 inches and it covers a surface area 96.7 cm2 with an ~79.3% screen-to-body ratio. This is alright, this is okay. 6.1 inches is a decent estate to interact with. Resolution wise it boasts a humble 720 x 1560 pixels (~292 ppi density). Here are some other features of this display; multi touch up to 5 fingers, Scratch Resistant Glass 2.5D Curved Glass.

Performance and memory 

Platform 

is it not nice just to see Android 9.0 (Pie) based on HiOs  on a smartphone like this? I mean Android 10 is out already and hopefully we Spark 4 Air will get an update. It is a good to have phones shipped with up to date software installed. It has a Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 (12 nm) chipset and a Quad-core CPU (4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU whereas graphics are made able by its PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

Storage 

32GB + 3GB. You can use a microSD to expand its internal storage up to 128 GB. With 3GB RAM this phone will handle multitasking with a respectable degree of ease.

Battery 

To be honest, I think 1000 more units of its non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery would give this phone even better score for its battery performance. But it is what it is. Say it must take you a whole day’s battery life of mixed usage.
